After ultimate practice, instead of switching over to the blue line, i took the green line all the way to the end and went in to the office for a while, then rode my unicycle home.

This must have been labor day but apparently i worked.

On my way to ultimate practice i shot 6 pictures as i was getting off the blue line holding the camera at my hip and just snapping away as i walked or rode my unicycle by people. I took this picture on the green line and i really like it, but decided not to use it as a selected picture for that day because i don't know who that person is and i had no way of knowing if she'd mind having her picture posted on my website. Of course, it's posted now, but it's a lot smaller. Does that really make a difference or has just the passage of time let me change my mind?

Early morning sun.
Decided to pick up some old tunes today and bought The Stray Cats - "Greatest Hits" and Los Lobos - "Just Another Band From East L.A. (A Collection)"

On the 5th i rode my bike over to the local hardware store after work and took some very tight aperture shots of street signs in front of the sun.

This is Union Crew playing at the Tune-up tournament in Naperville. I took pictures of them, but i was playing that tournament with the masters team Chronic as sort of a tryout before the fall series. This would be the 5th tournament in a row that i'd played for a different team.

The next day i took some pictures between games, then after our last game i tried to get some pictures of people and some of the better teams playing, but i didn't get anything good, so i took a picture of Gwen and Josh's puppy again.

On September 11th, 2002, i walked down by where the new library was being built, and something about the flag in the park next to it caught my eye and i couldn't figure out why it looked so different that day until after i'd taken a couple of pictures of it and realized that it was at half-mast. I think the nearness of it, instead of it being all the way up at the top of the pole, is what made it interesting. Figured it would be a good image for the significance of that day.

My dad was in town on the 12th and we were all going out to Poor Phil's for dinner. While i was waiting for them to show up, i saw the Weinermobile in the hotel parking lot.
After dinner, my dad and i walked down the Marion Street mall and i passed by a group of people sitting outside by the coffee shop there. I made eye contact with TWO of the women sitting there, but just passed by. Can't even remember if i smiled or not. But i thought maybe if i strolled by the same place at about the same time the next week (without my dad), maybe i'd see 'em again... Always hopeful...

The next morning i had breakfast with my dad at the Pancake House. I think he was just passing through, driving my sister Nina's car across the country for her.

Eeeeearly the next morning, i got up, picked up a couple of people, and drove down to West Lafayette, Indiana for sectionals with Union Crew. Stopped for gas in Remington, IN. I took a lot of pictures from the balcony of the hotel that evening while it was pouring rain. I was hoping for something cool, but nothing really came out well.

On Sunday, after we lost to Indianapolis, i took some pictures of the coed teams, more puppy shots, then hit the road home.

Since ultimate season was now over, i got my fix of trains by going up to the Oak Park Metra commuter train platform. It's pretty cool to be able to stand right next to a frieght train as it rolls by, just a foot or so away from a huge moving wall of steel.

I remember exactly what was going on when i shot these two pictures in this alley off of the Marion Street mall. It was a week after i'd seen the women at the coffee shop and i was once again on the Marion Street mall at the same time of the evening, but unfortunately, no attractive women were at the coffee shop. While i was taking this picture though, a group of women walked by behind me and i swear i heard one of them say "he was carrying a camera over his shoulder..." I took the pic (it was a slow exposure) and looked back, but they were just rounding the corner. Of course i did nothing. Oh well.

The Lake Street bridge over the des Plaines River. I probably took more pictures here than any other place. Got a lot of good water pics because of the nice shadows under the bridge.

Teco came in to work with me on the 27th. Not feeling that i'd gotten any neat cool good shots, i took some pictures around my house that night. This is the leg of my piano stool.

Saturday. I took the dogs out to the woods. Leaves were turning color and falling onto the earth.

The 30th i remember as being a beautiful day, which doesn't always translate into getting good pictures. I think i felt like i'd rather be sitting outside that day than being inside working. I sat at this spot for a while, watching traffic go by.
