Saturday with all 4 snowboard supervisors. I taught a level 4 lesson (1 guy) in the morning. A nasty rain squall passed through right at lunch time, then it sorta drizzled for a while. All the supervisors and managers had a meeting all afternoon. That night was the Learning Center end-of-season party and my video presentation seemed to go over well.

Took the dogs over to Healdville to walk, but didn't find the actual trail to the top of Okemo mountain until we were driving back out. I took the day off since i'll be the only supervisor working all this week due to everyone else being off at AASI clinics.
Dead, dead, dead. I was the only snowboard supervisor working today. No lessons. A bunch of us rode around jumping things in the morning, then some people watched "The 40 Year Old Virgin" up in the locker room in the afternoon.
Heavy rain/snow mix all day (snain?). No lessons of any kind. Hardly any customers. I took a couple of runs but the snow was like glue and i couldn't get any speed to go anywhere. Dan let all the instructors go home after 10 o'clock line-up, then let the supervisors go home at 2:00.

They groomed out all the new snow, but it was still pretty nice carvy stuff. The halfpipe was cut and i was getting air out of it, plus i stalled out on the top of the quarter-pipe, which was way cool. The memo went out today that the mountain's closing on Sunday the 9th. Yeah, we're all ready.
Aaron and D2 were in today, so i wasn't the only supervisor. No lessons again, but the snow was pretty nice. I took Shannon, who works at the Learning Center desk, out for a lesson in the morning. In the afternoon i shot some pics of Dane sliding over the C-box.
Walked the dogs over on the Healdville trailhead. It started to rain as i was driving over there so we didn't walk for too long.
Supervisors had to teach first, so i taught a morning level-1 group of 2 adults and missed the "Huck and Chuck", then taught the same two in the afternoon and missed the Slush Cup. Oh well. That evening i drove down to Londonderry for Curt's end-of-season party. I brought the dogs down and invited my friend Daphne, who lives down there. Turns out she knew a couple of the Okemo people at the party.
Last day of the season. Aaron taught a morning level-1 group (1 kid) while i rode the halfpipe and the C-box (C-box photos by Gary Caviness, Me yawning photo by Ian Cunningham)
and i taught the last snowboard lesson of the season, a level-1 group of 3 kids, in the afternoon. So i taught the last lesson of last year,
the first lesson of this year, and the last lesson of this year. I gotta stop this.

Spent the day working on the end-of-season DVD. Walked the dogs up at Okemo and picked up all my gear from the Wernick House.
Met Aaron, Nicole, and some other folks up at the half-pipe and hiked it for a while (took 4 runs). Later in the afternoon i drove over to Wallingford to play ultimate.
Took the dogs to the vet for their heartworm tests.
Walked the dogs along the AT/LT.
Aaron and i hiked with the dogs up to the top of White Rocks. I spent most of the rest of the day packing.

Hung out with Linda, Brett, and their kids Alex and Callum while heavy weather raged through Arkansas. Finally left at about 1:30 and drove through a couple hours of rain and out the other side of the storm. Camped at Bear Creek Recreation Area in Kirby, AR next to Lake Greeson.

Put down some miles today. Kirby, AR to Lariat, TX. I was pushing into a headwind most of the day and was a little nervous that my truck was running so hot. But it survived the day. I camped at a small rest stop outside of Lariat.
