Paul and i took a 22-mile bike ride from the lake down the old railroad grade along Schrader Creek to route 414 in Monroeton. Daddy picked us up there and gave us a ride back. Hug 41: Ann Henderson Hug 42: Lucy Baumunk |
Paul packed up his kids, bikes, and dog and headed home to Chicago. I drove down to Philly. Charlie arrived by bus at 30th Street Sation at about 11:30. I had to go wake up the neighbors because they'd parked me in. Charlie wanted some food, so we drove up to Ridge Ave on the way home, looking for a place to get something. Nothing, but then i wondered if Dalesandro's was still open. We pulled in at 11:59 PM, just as they were closing down. Charlie got the last cheesesteak. Score. |
Wildwood beach tournament. Charlie and i got up early and drove down to the shore. Charlie was on the competitive team, i was on the non (both teams' names had something to do with Phil), but i ended up playing on both teams, as they had alternating schedules. It was super hot. All 4 of the Rutland-area/Green Mountain College teams camped that night at a state park about half an hour inland. It was sweltering and i didn't sleep much. Photo of me by Nikki Pfeiffer. Photo of Josh by me. Hug 41: Joanne Ford |
Day 2 of Wildwood. By the 3rd game, the sand was too hot to walk on. You had to dig your feet under the surface while waiting for the pull. Charlie and i drove out through a line of huge thunderstorms and Charlie saw a funnel cloud. We got to 30th Street Station at about 5:50 and went inside where Charlie checked his schedule on my iPhone using the free wifi. His bus left at 6:20, so i dropped him off there and went back to Mommy and Daddy's house. Hug 44: Charlie Eisenhood |
Stopped in at the hardware store, then drove back to the lake and watched as the water shield was mowed away. |
