Day 1 of A-group snowboard training—4 new instructors. |
Day 2 of A-group snowboard training—down to 2 instructors. One was actually a junior and one hurt his knee. |
Katie took the all-day upper level snowboarders today—Megan, who i had the week before, and her 7-year-old sister Anna. I rode along with them for a few runs. |
Turned 52. I taught two adult level-1 snowboarders in the afternoon. Winter league ultimate. Beat the Blue team.

No lessons at Jackson Gore, so i rode over to the Clock Tower side and caught up with Megan and Anna, who were riding with Celeste.

Taught a 3 hour private today that i can't remember any details about... Winter league ultimate. Lost to the White team 34-33. I picked up the disc with 10 seconds left and looked up to the scoreboard, but it had gone off, so i thought that we needed to score. In my haste, i overthrew Travis and the White team picked it up on the goal line and scored to tie. We hucked it incomplete and White worked it back up and scored to win. Dammit. |

Taught a 3-hour level-2 adult private today. |

Taught a 6-year-old level-1 2-hour private, then two level-5 teenagers for an hour. There were about 30 or so group ski lessons in the morning and ONE snowboard lesson. |
Taught an 8:30 1-hour private—a 10-year-old "power leafer", then one level-3 adult group lesson. |
Level 5 group of 2 kids in the morning, then level 2 group of 1 kid in the afternoon. The kid fell down and hurt his wrist about halfway through the lesson. |
First request private at 8:30: the same kid i'd had on the 24th—he was turning to both sides proficiently now. Then level 5 group in the morning and a split of the level 3/4 group in the afternoon. |
Long wait for a traffic jam on the way to work—a truck slid off the road and jackknifed across it. 2-hour level-5 private at 8:30, then 2-hour level-6 private at 10:30. Went over to the Clock Tower side of the mountain for a group of 3 level-1s in the afternoon.

Had 7 hours of privates booked for the day. 8:30 2-hour private got misbooked on the wrong side of the mountain so that one went away. 10:30 series private never showed up. 12:30 private arrived 25 minutes late. 1:30 private (15 minutes late) was with a mother and son and we never left the gentle slope next to the line-up area. The kid couldn't stand up by himself. |
8:30 private with a 14-year-old girl who was frustrated with not being able to find her balance on an edge, then the all-day level 5 group, which was actually 2 half-day kids (who could turn well and ride fast) and one all-day kid (who could turn slowly and ride slowly). It started snowing around 10 AM and there was about 5 inches on my truck when i went to drive home. |
8:30 2-hour private with a not-quite-special-needs boy and his father. The boy had one melt-down for about 10 minutes but otherwise was pretty good. My 10:30 private once again no-showed, but i picked up a 2-hour private half over it (at 11:30) with a really fun 6-year-old girl. Then i had 2 level-1 adults in the afternoon. Nina arrived for dinner. Mark, Isaiah, and Naima arrived later. |
8:30 private, an hour checking in ski-lesson students (which included getting an ear-full from an unhappy parent), 3rd no-show for the 10:30 series private, then a 2-hour level-4 private and a 1-hour level-4 private. |
