Drove down to Shunk. The GPS kept trying to route me north up to US-20 and at one junction, after ignoring it and going south for a while, i thought i could start following it again, but it took me back up to I-88. Rrrggghh.... So my travel time was about nine hours. Ugh.

Drove from Shunk to Foulkeways in Gwynedd, PA. Took my first-ever home COVID-19 test before leaving. On the way i passed through the ghost town of Centralia, PA. The Mini got a little hot on all of the uphill climbs over the ridges of the Allegheny Mountains, but it cooled off enough on the downhills.

60th wedding anniversary for my parents, Ken and Joanne. Most of the kids and many spouses and grandkids were there. I presented Mommy with the book i’d made of her trip to Alaska in 1956. Bulo stayed at M&D’s apartment while we had dinner and stayed with me in the hotel that night (and the previous). He barked at a few people in the hallway while in the room.

Drove back to Shunk and was once again thwarted in the route that i wanted to take by the damn GPS pulling me in wrong directions. Grr.... I was thinking before i left Vermont that i should throw my road atlas in the car, but i forgot.

Spent a while cleaning up the pile of beams which used to be the retaining wall by the lake near the boathouse.
|
I’d originally planned on driving back today, but decided to stay an extra day and relax before summer work started.
|
Drove home. This time i let the GPS take me where it wanted, except for the very end of the trip when i pointed toward Rutland. Still took a long time, but not as long as the drive down.

Stopped by Jay’s house on my way home to see his litter of nine English Shepard puppies. Super cute. This is the dad of the lot.
