Drained the water, closed up the house, drove back to Vermont.

My mother gave me her psaltery, which she'd had since the 70s and today i restrung it with new strings.

Oil on the ground where logging is being done.

First game of winter league ultimate (second week, actually—i missed the first game). I’m on the Chameleon team and we were hammered something like 38-27 by the Blue team. I played fairly well for an old guy. It was interesting to see how much i was NOT thrown to early on, then got more touches as people realized that i can actually throw.

Barrel float on Elfin Lake.

Last day out for the Mini.

A crushing loss at winter league to the White team, 43-24.
Drove my truck in to Rutland and dropped it off at Low-Cost Exhaust to get the exhaust fixed so that it’d pass inspection. I walked from the shop up to the Speakeasy Café where i had a cookie and a hot chocolate and did some writing until Kara came to pick me up and give me a ride home.
Got a ride back to Rutland with Taylor after she finished her work day at Evening Song Farm and picked up my truck.
Took my gear to the locker room at Okemo and Bulo and i walked up to the Sugar House and back.
Opening day at Okemo. All-day train-the-trainers clinic. Nine snowboarders in the group, but kinda underwhelming day.
All-day kids lesson, red level, 1 eight-year-old boy.
All-day kids lesson, red level, 1 nine-year-old girl. Got her up the chairlift at the end of the day.
No lessons. Hung around waiting for a while, then spent a couple of hours with other employees shoveling out the magic carpet lift in the Snow Stars area. It was covered with man-made snow.
Finished assembling the Lego lighthouse. Motorized with a rotating light!
One 14-year-old boy today who wore himself out learning (i’m sure i helped), but he could not get onto his heel edge, no matter what i tried.
Same kid again today. Progress! By late morning, he was sliding a bit on his heel edge and we took a few runs up the lifts in the afternoon before he was completely beat.
One red-level kid today who was excited and picked it up really fast, starting to turn on his second run down the bunny slope, but then he could not for the life of him understand the concept of riding across the hill on an edge. That meant that, even by the afternoon, he wasn’t ready to ride the lift and he melted down and quit at about 2:20 because i wouldn’t take him up the chairlift.
Zero lessons today. Andrew stayed for the afternoon line-up and the rest of us were cut loose.
Some ski lessons today, but no snowboard. I rode most of the morning with various other instructors, then left after afternoon line-up.
We were once again trounced at winter league ultimate, but i did manage to squeak in a block on a taller, younger guy.
Beautiful clear starry night when i got home.
