No lessons. I went out riding in the powder-filled trees all morning with Andrew, Wayne, and Katie. It was great until Katie ran into a tree and had to be sledded down by Ski Patrol. That evening was the Ski + Ride School end of season party, where my video was shown. |
Andrew, Reiner, and i explored some more tree runs in the morning, then i had a 2-hour private at 10:30 with a level-3 girl who needed work on her toe edge. There was a single lesson in the afternoon and 4 instructors. I stepped up and took it—the last lesson of the year. He was a level-2, but it was so slushy and slow that we went right up the lift. |
I felt out of sorts at winter league ultimate, not playing particularly well, but we won in our early game against Chameleon 38-29. |
Took a hike up the dirt road to Evening Song Farm. Felt a little strange without a dog.
|
Won our late winter league ultimate game against Hoof Hearted (Orange) 39-23. I wore a chest-mounted GoPro for the game and put together a little video. |
The pile of plowed snow in my driveway finally got small enough to navigate around and the Mini came out for the first time this year. |
Spent the past week cleaning up and emptying out the basement and the room above the garage. Almost all of the stuff in this dumpster (before i filled it with yard trimmings) was in my house when i bought it. Lost the winter league ultimate session 2 final against Black 30-29. Just couldn't quite score to tie it in the final seconds. |
Farm. Baby goats born that morning. |
Drove the Mini down to Magic Mountain and slogged around with Tim and Dan, planning out a disc golf course. |
Farm. |
Drove down to Oneonta, NY in the afternoon and arrived at the Metro East D3 College Regionals in time to watch some of the last round of the day. From there i checked into the hotel nearby and had a delicious chicken sandwich at the hotel bar while a hockey game was on TV. Retired to my room and watched The Matrix: Revolutions, Jupiter Ascending, and the Not The White House Correspondents Dinner with Samantha Bee. Fellow observer Linda arrived from Toronto sometime in the middle of the night. |
A little chilly and wet. There was a half-hour rain delay between the first and second rounds, then Linda and i observed one of the women's semis, the women's final, and the men's final. Wesleyan beat a spirited SUNY Geneseo team in the women's final by one point at the hard cap, which was heartbreaking for the geneseo players. Army then beat Wesleyan in the men's final. After the games were over, i drove down to Shunk. |
